Question about Rings
Hello Brothers. Forgive me if this question has been asked in the past. A quick search of the site did not produce any results on the subject.
I am a newly initiated Entered Apprentice. I am very excited and proud of having joined Freemasonry.
I want to show my pride in our fraternity and am anxious to chose a ring to symbolize that pride.
What is the accepted practice of wearing a masonic ring? Is it improper to wear one prior to becoming a Master Mason? I realize I can probably do anything I chose to, but I want to do the right thing.
I look forward to your guidance.
Bro. Osirus is correct, Just stick with a blue lodge ring. There is no reason not to wear one before you get your MM degree and more importantly, welcome to the craft!
Welcome to the Craft OttawaMan!
Thank you all for the information. My lodge is Chesterville Lodge 320 in Winchester Ontario.
Welcome aboard. Hope you enjoy your Masonic journey.
There are no rules as regards to Masonic rings. They are not considered as regalia.
Next you will probably wonder which way to wear the ring, compas pointing away from you or towards you! You could be challenged on either, but the correct and most important way is to wear it with pride.

Congratulations! and welcome aboard. It is absolutely not improper to wear a ring prior to becoming a Master Mason. Just make sure its a blue lodge ring, you wouldnt want to be wearing a Scottish rite 32nd degree ring for instance.
If you dont mind my asking, which lodge did you join?
The lodge must have an Initiatic Focus, which means that the brethren must always remember that striving to improve themselves in Masonry and assisting candidates and fellow brethren in doing the same is chief among their duties.
