Hello all. I am a new forum member. I am not a member of any lodge yet  but have always been interested in Masonry. I am a contractor and am fascinated with the history of Masonry. I have read that the beginnings can be traced to the time when stone mason guilds gathered to build the great cathedrals. You can see how this would peak the interest of a design-build contractor such as myself. I hope to learn more about you and your craft through this forum.

Welcome to the forum Turk.

Welcome to the forum Turk.  We are always glad to talk to people interested in Freemasonry.  You are correct in the origins of freemasonry, although there is a lot of other speculation.  There is a good video on this site under multimedia called York Rite Masonry, which goes into detail about the midevil stone masons guilds.
